When it comes to child safety it’s important you make the right choices for your home. Start by taking a look at our remote control roller blinds or Perfect Fit blinds, which are all completely cordless and chain-less. We’d be happy to take you through our full range and explain the British Blind and Shutter Association (BBSA) guidelines, which recommend installing blinds so that cords and chains are 1.5m above the floor. Choosing child-safe blinds and shutters
Cordless styles - First of all, consider products that operate with wands and remotes, or by hand. Our remote control roller blinds and Perfect Fit blinds are a great place to start.
Access to cords - If you’d prefer a blind with a cord or chain, make sure they’re well out of reach of children. For those blinds with a continuous loop cord or chain, we’ll fit them with a safety device at least 1.5m above the ground.
Safety devices - Chain-break connectors - which snap the chain when it’s pulled very hard - cord tidies and cleats can all help to make your blind safer.
Furniture placement - Never put children’s beds or cots alongside a corded blind, or any furniture they’re likely to climb.
